Following a 30 year career in Local Government in the Newcastle and Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, Allan Bowditch established Bowditch Consulting Pty Ltd in 2001 with the aim of delivering high quality consulting services to a range of government and private sector clients.
Since inception the company has provided an extensive range of engineering and environmental consulting services to State and Local Government clients, particularly to NSW Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) to assist with the development and delivery of major State Road infrastructure projects.
In 2009 the range of specialised services provided by the company diversified and the company began trading under the registered business name of Bowditch Group in recognition of the partnering arrangements it had established with other specialised consultancies to achieve the successful delivery of projects for clients.
In late 2009 Bowditch Group was successful in being awarded a 4 ½ year contract by Roads and Maritime to provide specialist environmental advice, project management support and community consultation services for construction of the 40 kilometre Hunter Expressway between Cameron Park near the M1 Motorway and the New England Highway at Branxton in the Hunter Valley. Bowditch Group has performed an important role in the delivery of this $1.7 billion project in ensuring Roads and Maritime has fulfilled its environmental planning approval obligations and commitments. The Hunter Expressway opened to traffic in March 2014.
