TASK: Management of acoustic treatment mitigation works to properties affected by road traffic noise

Bowditch Group was successful in being awarded a contract to project manage the installation of at-residence noise treatments to about 40 noise-affected residential properties in the Shortland area. The tasks comprised identification of properties where road traffic noise levels would exceed threshold criteria 10 years after opening of the highway project, meeting with property owners and explaining the impacts on their properties, coordinating assessment of the properties by building consultants and mechanical ventilation engineers, scoping the extent of architectural acoustic treatments and mechanical ventilation treatments to each property, preparing reports, recommendations and correspondence to residents, preparing contract documentation and tender invitations for builders to install the treatments, management of the building works and final inspections with the residents including rectification of defects identified. The project required a high level of consultation with property owners and tenants and the development of new tendering and contract management processes with RMS.
